TRAU FC (Tiddim Road Athletic Union Football Club) is a professional football club based in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur, India. Established in 1965, the club has been a cornerstone of football development in the Northeast region of India. Initially formed as a community club for local youth, TRAU FC steadily climbed the ranks of Indian football, earning promotion to the I-League, India's top-tier football competition, in the 2019-20 season.
Our philosophy is rooted in nurturing local talent. Manipur has long been a fertile ground for footballing talent, and TRAU FC serves as a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills on the national stage. The club's youth academy is recognized as one of the most prolific in the country, having produced numerous players who have gone on to represent India at various age-group levels and in the senior national team.
The club plays its home matches at the historic Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, a venue known for its passionate and knowledgeable fans. The sea of red and blue in the stands creates an intimidating atmosphere for visiting teams and provides unwavering support for our players. Our colors, red and blue, symbolize the passion (red) and the spirit (blue) of the people of Manipur.
Beyond competitions, TRAU FC is deeply committed to community engagement. We run multiple grassroots programs across Manipur, providing coaching, equipment, and competitive opportunities to children from all backgrounds. The club believes in the power of sport to foster discipline, teamwork, and positive social change.
In the 2022-23 I-League season, TRAU FC achieved a historic top-four finish, marking the club's most successful campaign to date. This achievement was a testament to the hard work of our players, the strategic vision of our coaching staff led by Head Coach Nandakumar Singh, and the loyal support of our fans, affectionately known as the "Red-Blue Brigade."
Looking ahead, TRAU FC's vision is clear: to establish itself as a consistent contender for the I-League title and to become a regular participant in AFC club competitions. The club's management, led by President Thongam Nandakishore Singh, is investing in infrastructure, including a new state-of-the-art training facility on the outskirts of Imphal, to provide our players with world-class resources.
Our partnership with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and various corporate sponsors has been instrumental in our growth. We are also proud to collaborate with local educational institutions to ensure our young athletes receive a balanced education alongside their football training.
TRAU FC stands as a beacon of hope and pride for Manipur. Every match we play is not just for three points, but for the dreams of every young footballer in the hills and valleys of our beautiful state. We carry the aspirations of our people on our shoulders, and we strive to honor them with every pass, tackle, and goal.
